On January 4, 2026, an event was held as part of the Ukrainian Cuisine Week, serving as a vibrant conclusion to an intensive program and a true celebration of Ukrainian culture and traditions.

In his remarks, the Chargé d’Affaires of Ukraine in Turkmenistan, Petro Makarenko, expressed gratitude to representatives of diplomatic missions of partner countries, Turkmen friends of Ukraine, and all guests for their support, solidarity, and sincere interest in Ukrainian culture.

Special emphasis was placed on Ukrainian borshch, which is inscribed on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage List, as well as on other traditional dishes from different regions of Ukraine that reflect the richness and diversity of the national cuisine.

The event became an important platform for consolidating the Ukrainian community, engaging with friends of Ukraine, and discussing a wide range of issues related to Ukrainian–Turkmen cooperation. Discussions covered cultural and humanitarian initiatives, educational projects, Ukrainian Film Week, the opening of the Ukrainian Book Shelf, cooperation between universities, as well as collaboration with international partners, including the European Union, the United States, Japan, and other countries.

Ukrainian Cuisine Week once again demonstrated that culture, traditions, and people-to-people connections remain a powerful bridge of friendship and mutual understanding between nations.
